Stage 3.1 (Ages 12–13)

At this stage, students begin to approach creativity with greater independence and intention. They:

  • Continue developing coordination, knowledge, and imaginative thinking

  • Explore and experiment with skills and techniques, but now with a stronger compositional purpose

  • Are introduced to conceptual thinking, learning to play with abstract ideas and themes

  • Begin to proactively initiate their own projects, compositions, or practice explorations

  • Strengthen adaptability by responding to creative challenges and reworking ideas when needed

  • Learn to stay open and persevere through difficulties, seeing the value in the process

 Focus: Building independence, resilience, and the first steps into conceptual and purposeful creative expression.

Stage 3.2 (Ages 13–15)

At this stage, students refine their creative identity and learn to connect their ideas with meaning and perspective. They:

  • Apply skills and techniques with clear intention, creating compositions that communicate more complex ideas

  • Deepen conceptual thinking, using art to explore perspectives, themes, and abstract challenges

  • Take greater initiative in planning and executing projects, demonstrating independence and motivation

  • Strengthen resilience by pushing through creative ups and downs with determination

  • Show openness to feedback and adaptability, refining their work through revision and exploration

Use creative thinking to find unique ways of expressing their personal perspective
Focus: Refinement, self-expression, and perseverance — using creativity as both a personal voice and a tool for resilience.
